With six sensors, students can program Ranger to detect and react to light, temperature, sound, obstacles, and lines. It can also track the angular rate and velocity using a gyroscope. Build a tank-like off-road vehicle that can climb, roll, or avoid obstacles in the outdoors; a three-wheel car that follows lines; or a self-balancing bird After building a robot, students learn to control and code their creations through three rounds. First, they manually drive it using the app. Then a game introduces them to block-based programming with help from a friendly panda guide. The final step lets them drag and drop code to combine commands or use text-based Arduino to control their creation. Six AAA batteries required (not included).
