About this item:
Working together in small groups, students study various bridge structures and then build them using toothpicks and glue. Bridge building kit lets them experiment with different bridge types including pratt, k-truss, howe, lattice, and others to find which one will span the greatest distance or support the heaviest load. Students can measure their toothpick bridges with rulers to ensure they meet challenge parameters. Then use string and beanbags to test the bridge's strength. The process encourages students to be creative, think critically, and learn how to work in a team. Set includes everything needed for 4 groups of students to build their own toothpick bridges.
