Begin place value games by dividing the class into small groups and give each a select number of beanbags. Set challenge parameters such as having students create a number by throwing the correct number of beanbags into the ones, tens, and hundreds pockets. You could also have teams compete to make the largest/smallest number or to land the beanbags in the correct spots to make a number within a certain range. You can also use the goal in other number activities and classroom games such as horse when students try to land the beanbag in the same pocket as the previous student.
